Anti-Bullying

Many kids get bullied in school and it is a serious problem with students today. I think the presentation of bullying was very good and interactive. The girls showed us a video on bullying where kids had on their one hand the thing they got bullied about and on the other hand how they overcame the bullying. It was a cute video because I remember one of the boys hand said "they called me gay since I was seven" and the other hand said "and I am". It is good that he is proud and stood up. I liked how the girls presented and showed us that bullying just isn't calling someone a name, it can by physical or mental, what a person looks like, or doesn't look like, it can be to make a person feel intimidated, by either talking rude to them or not even talking to them at all, like ignoring them, and the thing that surprised me the most was you can bully your siblings. I have two sisters and a brother and I would never want to hurt them on purpose but I have bullied them before, so I was surprised about that. The speakers made me feel like everyone has been bullied before and everyone has bullied other people too, so could all relate to each other and what they were saying. The speakers had us get on either side of a line on the floor and if the question or phrase related to you then you would stand on the line. The phrases varied from saying you have siblings to saying you have ever broke the law. This exercise showed you that other people were like you and that some were different. The exercise that I enjoyed the most was the one where every student in the class had a paper with their name on it and the paper went around the room and every student would write something nice about that student on the student’s paper. It was nice to get your paper back and see nice complements from your classmates. I wish we had this presentation earlier in the year so we can connect with the other classmates earlier, and I would have really liked it if everyone was in the class was present that day. I really enjoyed this presentation because many kids get bullied and some commit suicide because they can’t deal with the bullies.  Earlier this year a kid that went to my High school killed himself because people were bulling him. Not only did this boy suffer from bullying, now his friends and family suffer too. Bulling is a serious problem because this can be a result. No one wants to feel like he or she doesn’t belong and the girls did a great job presenting bullying to our class. I like how they got us involved and did exercised to show us that we all have similarities and differences and at the end of class we got complements.
